UNITY IS STRENGTH! NOT ANY MORE?

Unity is an integral part in the life of mankind, which seems to be negligible in today’s world. Men have more than enough unreasonable ways to stand against unity and even the slightest of differences seem sufficient to fight.

To start off with, the most favorite discrimination in humans, some claim to be Hindus, the others Muslims and Christians, etc. If this discrimination is to be allowed considering that those who belong to their respective religions are united, it doesn’t happen to be so. Men differentiate themselves within religion in terms of Brahmins and Kshatriyas, higher or lower class language, money, etc.

Ignoring all this, when languages unite, states unite, religions unite, and there occurs repulsion between the North and South or East and West of a country. After all this, if one can still succeed in uniting the people of a country, the problem appears on a larger scale in the form of “which country is better or more powerful than the other?” When every individual wants to be on top of the other, unity is the last thing one can expect.

The barriers between men and unity seem to be counting endlessly for the world to unite. Today’s humans contradict the very famous quote “unity is strength”. Has this quote of strength and positivity become untrue?

  2. I think we must be careful not to equate unity with uniformity. Many people think that being in unity is to enforce one way of behaviour or ideology which is uniformity not unity. However it also all depends on who is doing the uniting- Hitler and Napoleon were trying to unite Europe- and that turned out pretty bad. For me the important thing is to see each person as an image of God and to respect and honour their freedom and uniqueness but always balancing that with the rights of the common good.

  4. true to your thought, we could only unite if we could get rid of the religions, nationalism for a common cause also if we respect each other freedom and their ideology. also in my view the only thing we always don't talk about is human ego and their selfish need which, in my opinion, is the main cause of differentiation and bias.so getting rid of ego of proving one's superiority over others could be very helpful.
